Meet the ladies.
Olga Pacheco- is my old college roommate, the only other Latina in my Freshmen dorm! In college I would swap my math work for her writing assignments and after a few tries, we both finally passed. After college, she housed me in her attic for a few months, making her grandfather think I was the maid of the house. This year we both are getting married and I will be a different type of maid...her maid of honor!
Kim Hopf- is my also my old college roommate, sorority sister, and Latina by association! At one point we both lived in a fake town in Connecticut and our terrible fake ID’s got us into our first bar in Hoboken! Most importantly, we established a true bond over Hypnotiq and Mad Dogs that no one can replace...our livers cringe at the thought of anything blue. Xiomara Parra - is my Colombian accomplice! We met in college through friends, and since then I’ve stolen her to be one of my closest girls. She was there when times were rough and flasks were a mandatory accessory to go out. Now, we share a love for wine, a hate for diets and more importantly a bond that Google hangouts has only made stronger. |
Madeleine Velez- Maid of Honor - is the little sister I begged for, for 9 full years! Now 21 years later, she is hotter, smarter and taller than me...so I wouldn’t mind sending her back! Madeleine has always been the one to keep my secrets, lie to me when I'm fat and most importantly be my biggest motivation to be a better person. As a great judge of character, she has only approved of one boyfriend and he turned out the be the one.
Jessica Arias- is my comadre and sister from a Peruvian Mister. We met in high school and later bonded over coupons at Shoprite. I had my first rebellious moment with Jessica, where I turned my cell phone off, adopted her Peruvian identity and danced in NYC til 5 AM! I also almost didn't live to tell that story….I’m still sorry mom. Claudia Gonzalez- is my future sister in law and an accomplice in my surprise engagement! She was the first Arellano family member I met and thankfully accepted me with open arms. Her support throughout our relationship has always been positive and enthusiastic. We share a love of dancing and drinks that is surely to bring us more memories to follow. |
